Harbour Point condos are a reminder of how condo buildings used to be.
Modern condo buildings have evolved from what was. They are modern, stylish buildings incorporating a variety of styles, colours and materials.
Older high-rise buildings, those built in the 1970s and 1980s, look nothing like the current variety.
We’ve come a long way from the Three Ugly Sisters as Harbour Point condos have been described. These were among the first high-rise condo buildings along the waterfront. Many condo suites of that period included wall-to-wall broadloom and solariums. Pets were prohibited in many buildings as were children.
Today both diversity and lifestyle are encouraged. In place of pet bans we have pet-spas. Adult-only buildings have been replaced with family-oriented amenities. And broadloom has been replaced with hardwood flooring. Newer engineering methods allow concrete walls to be replaced with larger windows and window-walls that bring natural light into our condo homes.
