Your condo building envelope, the outside surface of the building, is the most important asset of the condo corporation.
The building envelope protects the building interior from water, wind, heat and cold.
Eventually the building envelope will fail. The most common cause of failure is water – often due to freezing and thawing. There may be erosion, corrosion, water infiltration, rust, settling, rot or other visible symptoms.
The long term impact is a loss of structural integrity and safety issues from falling pieces of the envelope.
