Residents at 300 Front St. can monitor energy consumption, thermostat, locks, doors and appliances through their phone, tablet and/or computer. Their homes come equipped with a Cisco Smart Home package. Installation in an unwired home can cost $25,000. Wired condos can have this service for $2,000 to $3,000 depending on desired features and level of control.
Samsung Home Digital, a similar service, allows residents to manage suite security from their smartphone or tablet. Locking/unlocking doors and notification when a motion sensor has been activated are some of the features. A basic system can be installed for $8,000. YC Condos, at Yonge and College, will include Samsung Home Digital in penthouse suites.
