Beg bugs cause fear and dread undeserving of their size.
Perhaps this is because bed bugs feed on your blood at night. These small brown pests survive virtually unseen. Visible symptoms include hives, and black and red stains on linens.
Bed bugs come out at night. They feed on people while they sleep then hide during the day in small cracks and crevices. They are difficult to find and even more difficult to exterminate. Bed bugs can spread via bags, clothing, discarded furniture, electronics and books. They survive for 12-18 months in walls, clothing or clutter between feedings.
Bed bug infestations are among the worst fears of high-rise condo dwellers. This is probably because they are so difficult and expensive to kill.
Bed bugs are relatively harmless. They don’t spread disease. Their association with filth is unwarranted although clutter does make it easier for them to survive and spread.
