The key to obtaining the condo security you desire begins with defining expectations.
Before speaking with a company about providing condo security services, or evaluating your current company, it is helpful to identify expectations:
- Number of guards required
- Coverage times – specific hours and days or full 24/7 coverage
- Specific responsibilities and tasks
Once expectations have been identified or clarified it is easier to ensure these requirements are stipulated in a contract. It becomes easier to negotiate a fair price.
When the price for services appears too high it may be necessary to revise expectations so they are realistic for your available budget. Some level of compromise will be required.
There is no benefit to saving money by paying security guards a lower than average wage. This will ensure greater staff turnover, higher training costs and possibly uncovered shifts when staff quit without notice.
