Condo COVID Tales

October 2020

One CityPlace condo board decided to upgrade all unit toilets to “efficient toilets” during the pandemic.  With businesses closed and residents self-isolating, management sent workers into suites to install new toilets.

The new toilets overflowed, sometimes multiple times daily, and are difficult to flush.  A regular plunger doesn’t work to unclear blockages.  The special PooZooka plunger is unavailable for direct-to-consumer purchase and must be borrowed from the concierge daily.

In response to resident complaints management informed that “toilet evaluation specialists” would visit each suite to address the problem.

No explanation has been provided for contravention of isolation and physical distancing requirements to address a non-emergency upgrade.
