Can a Property Manager Serve as a Condo Director

There is nothing in the Condo Act prohibiting a property manager or superintendent from serving as a condo director.

This does create a greater potential for conflict of interest. Matters such as renewal or termination of their contracts should require that these directors disclose their conflict. They should refrain from being present during discussions, meetings and votes pertaining to their contract.
