A radiator heater is a heating system that uses hot water or steam to heat a room. In older homes and buildings this used to include large metal pipes in rooms which could cause injury if touched when hot. Some homeowners cover these pipes with a decorative enclosure for aesthetics and safety.
While most homes no longer include large exposed pipes, older homes continue to rely on them.
The Cozy is an insulated and internet-connected radiator to prevent overheating and waste. It includes a duct, fan and sensors to trap the radiator’s heat which is released based on the preferred settings of residents in each unit.
A building’s boiler is boiling a lot less water during the heating season when a Cozy is used.
