Security robots are available to rent out for $6.25 per hour in the USA.
Equipped with cameras, sensors and microphones, security robots can perform certain tasks efficiently and economically at times and in areas where a physical presence is not necessary.
Prudential Center, a retail shopping area in downtown Boston, tested the robot in 2017. The security robot could be found roaming the mall. It included high-definition cameras providing a 360-degree view, provided live and pre-recorded announcements and included an emergency call button. It travelled its route at 2 miles per hour.

The test period ended in September 2017 at which time it was escorted off premises by human security.
